  The Amateur Licence (amateur foundation station) [the Foundation Amateur Licence] may be obtained by persons holding the Amateur Operator’s Certificate of Proficiency (Foundation) (AOCP(F)).
  The Foundation Amateur Licence is considered to be the entry level for Amateur radio in Australia. The syllabus and related examination for the AOCP(F) correspondingly reflects the minimum level of knowledge, skills and experience required to safely assemble a Foundation Amateur station and to operate it safely without interference to other users and services.
• Standard Licence Theory Course

  The Amateur Licence (amateur standard station) [the Standard Amateur Licence] may be obtained by persons holding the Amateur Operator’s Certificate of Proficiency (Standard) (AOCP(S)).
  
  The Standard Amateur Licence is applicable for persons having an intermediate knowledge of radiocommunications at the hobby level. The syllabus and related examination for the AOCP(S) correspondingly reflects the level of knowledge, skills and experience required to safely assemble a Standard Amateur station and to operate it safely without interference to other users and services.
• Advanced License Theory Course

  The Amateur Licence (amateur advanced station) [the Advanced Amateur Licence] may be obtained by persons holding the Amateur Operator’s Certificate of Proficiency (Advanced) (AOCP(A)). The Advanced Amateur Licence is applicable for persons wishing to operate at the highest level of Amateur radio. The syllabus and related examination for the AOCP(A) correspondingly reflects the level of knowledge, skills and experience required to safely assemble an Advanced Amateur station and to operate it safely without interference to other users and services. This syllabus assumes that persons contesting the AOCP(A) are also familiar with the knowledge necessary to obtain the Amateur Operator’s Certificate of Proficiency (Standard).
